The Story
Set in False Creek, Vancouver, the Ontario Pavilion for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games offered a dynamic gateway to Ontario. The 10,000 sq. ft. exhibition space featured a shimmering facade inspired by Niagara Falls, with 40 km of up-lit fabric panels and LED walls displaying panoramic visuals. Inside, a raised modular floor concealed all building systems and extended outdoors with a gentle slope for full accessibility. Designed for flexibility, the space hosted exhibitions, concerts, and corporate events. Lightweight, recyclable materials were used throughout, with components donated or repurposed after dismantling to minimize environmental impact.
